Use of private information policy (GDPR)

Last updated: 30th September 2021

Summary:

I respect the EU's General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and this policy explains how I collect and treat any information you give me. You won't find any complicated legal terms or long passages of unreadable text. I've no desire to trick you into agreeing to something you might later regret.

My policy covers

  • Why I value your privacy
  • How I collect information
  • What information I hold
  • Where I store your information
  • What I use your information for
  • Who's responsible for your information at my company
  • Who has access to information about you
  • The steps I take to keep your information private
  • How to complain
  • Changes to the policy
  • Why I value your privacy

I value your privacy as much as I do my own, so I am committed to keeping your personal and business information safe. I am uncomfortable with the information companies, governments, and other organisations keep on file, so I ask for only the bare minimum from my customers. I'll never use your personal information for any reason other than why you gave it, and I'll never give anyone access to it unless I am forced to by law.

How I collect information

I make no use of cookies or scripts that were designed to track the websites you visit. I don't make any use of analytics or native social media ‘like' or ‘sharing' buttons which also build profiles of your internet activity. I am not interested in selling or sending on the information you provide to a third party, I am only interested in responding to and helping with enquiries.

I collect your email address when you contact me for a quote or query so I can respond.

I may ask for your account and contact information when you hire or buy a service from me.

Occasionally, I might receive your contact information from one of my partners. If I do, I protect it in exactly the same way as if you gave it to me directly.

What information I hold

When you contact me by email or through my website, I collect your name, email address and phone number.

When you buy something from me, I collect your name, email address, phone number, and a delivery address.

If you do business with me, I may collect your name and bank details and keep records of the invoices I send you and the payments you make.

What I use your information for

I use your contact information to send you details of our products and services in response to a requested quote. I might also email or phone you about our products and services, but if you tell me not to, I won't get in touch again. I will use your information to send you invoices, statements, or reminders.

Who's responsible for your information at my business

Amy Davis, the business owner, is responsible for the security of your information. You can contact me by email at amy.slt@pm.me or by phone on 07872 348726 if you have any concerns about the information I store.

Who has access to information about you

When I store information in my own systems, only the people who need it have access. Our management team (well Amy) has access to everything you've provided.

The steps I take to keep your information private

The devices I use are are protected by a passcode or fingerprint access. These devices ask for authentication whenever they're started or after 15 minutes of inactivity. My mobile devices are also protected by a fingerprint or facial recognition.

How to complain

I take complaints very seriously. If you've any reason to complain about the ways I handle your privacy, please contact Amy Davis by email at amy.slt@pm.me or by phone on 07872 348726.

Changes to the policy

If I change the contents of this policy, those changes will become effective the moment I publish them on our website.
